Multidisciplinary Approach in the Management of Complex Clinical Cases

The successful management of complex dental clinical cases requires close interdisciplinary collaboration, particularly in situations where functional rehabilitation and long-term esthetic stability depend on precise soft-tissue management. This lecture presents a multidisciplinary concept integrating prosthetic dentistry, implantology, and periodontology, with special emphasis on soft tissue augmentation and coronally advanced flap (CAF) techniques.

Through selected clinical cases, the lecture demonstrates how periodontal plastic surgery procedures, including root coverage and peri-implant soft tissue enhancement, play a critical role in establishing stable biological conditions prior to definitive prosthetic rehabilitation. The interaction between prosthetic planning and periodontal execution is discussed in detail, highlighting treatment sequencing, tissue phenotype modification, and risk management in esthetically demanding areas.

Digital diagnostics and planning tools are presented as key elements for interdisciplinary communication and predictability. Common clinical challenges and complications related to soft tissue stability are analyzed, together with strategies for prevention and long-term maintenance.
