Oral laser applications

Lasers have become an important tool in modern dentistry. In soft tissue procedures, lasers are widely used for gingivectomy, frenectomy, crown lengthening, and the removal of benign oral lesions such as fibromas. They are also effective in the management of periodontal pockets and peri-implantitis by reducing bacterial contamination and promoting tissue healing. For hard tissue applications, Erbium-lasers can be used to remove dental caries and prepare cavities. In endodontics, lasers play a significant role in disinfecting and cleaning root canals and facilitating pulp capping. Aesthetic applications include gingival depigmentation and gingival-contouring, which contribute to improved cosmetic outcomes. Integration of laser technology into dental practice brings improvements in various areas of dentistry.
