Anterior Direct Composites: Guidelines for Mimicking Nature

The rapid innovation in composite materials over the last decade and the availability of
various types of composites have provided today’s clinicians with an extremely convenient
and cost-effective tool. Direct composites enable clinicians to achieve excellent aesthetic
results with minimal tooth destruction in a very efficient manner. This lecture will
demonstrate how to reach high aesthetic standards in everyday dentistry using direct
chairside composites. It will cover the clinical aspects of anterior composites, including shade
selection, preparation tips, composite layering, and finishing and polishing techniques. Proper
handling of composites can result in outstanding aesthetic outcomes, as shown through case
examples in this lecture.
