Implant Treatment of Periodontally Compromised Patients by Laser Therapies
In periodontally compromised patients recurrence of the periodontal disease and cross-contamination of neighboring dental implants constitues a certain risk. Thus, in such group of patients proper control of the oral microbiota and adequate maintenance in the long-run has an important role. Semiconductor diode, Nd:YAG, erbium family and CO2 lasers are been demostrated to be effective in terms of bactericidal actions, in eradication of biofilm and organic debris in the periodontal treatment protocols. In this presentation the antimicrobial treatment strategies for periodontally compromised implant candidate patient will be evaluated, and treatment protocols for dental implant candidate patients, as well as therapeutic approach in implant patients subsequently acquired periodontal disease will be explained.
