Successful long-term results in oral implantology rely on a solid treatment plan and the application of rational surgical and prosthetic concepts. Prosthetically driven implant dentistry is crucial to long term success, especially in complex implant cases; edentulous implant prosthetic treatments may be considerably more challenging to accomplish when compared to partial edentulism cases. Besides conventional treatment protocols, guided implantology integrates the digital transition in dentistry. Its accuracy and predictability highlights digital implantology as an indispensable instrument for the contemporary clinical practice. This lecture aims to empower the implant rehabilitation team with contemporary safe and reproducible conventional and digital concepts for optimal prosthetic long-term results in treating complex clinical cases.

Dr. Kleanthis Manolakis

Dr. Kleanthis Manolakis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece. He graduated from the School of Dentistry, Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg, Germany in 1989. He also completed his thesis at the same university and was awarded the Dr.Med.Dent. degree in 1991 (Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Head: Prof. Dr. Dr. W. Schilli). Two-year post-doctorate training in fixed prosthodontics and dental implantology at the Center of Dental Medicine, Department of Prosthodontics and Department of Oral Surgery, University of Zurich, Switzerland (1993-1995, Head Prof. Dr. P Schaerer). Six-month clinical internship at the Department Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Zurich University (Head Prof. Dr. Dr. H. F. Sailer). Since 1995 he maintains a private practice specializing in esthetics and dental implants in Thessaloniki, Greece. Founding member, since 2012 Treasurer and currently President of the Hellenic Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry. Country Chairman Greece for the European Society of Cosmetic Dentistry. Course director and instructor for international training courses.
