Orthograde endodontic treatment: what are the factors that most influence its outcome?

Maintaining the natural element must always be the first goal for every clinician. The choice of the most suitable treatment plan obviously passes through a careful and accurate evaluation of the outcome of our endodontic therapies, a fundamental prerequisite for guaranteeing a favorable prognosis even in the long term.
The success of orthograde endodontic treatment has been the subject, over the years, of a vast amount and variety of studies.
The introduction of the surgical microscope, ultrasound, digital radiography, CBCT, rotary instruments, and innovative obturation materials and techniques have certainly improved the efficiency and the "technical" result of endodontic treatments and retreatments, but these improvements can be translated into an improvement in the clinical outcome at a distance? The aim of the work will be to find, if possible, an answer to this question through a review of the literature and the clinical experience of the speaker.
