Prof. Dr. Paula Perlea

Prof. Dr. med. dent. Dr. habil. Paula Perlea is the dean of the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Bucharest, Romania and the president of the Romanian Society of Stomatology, founded 1938.

She is professor in the department of endodontics, DMD (valedictorian) and has a PhD magna cum laude at the Ruprecht Karl University, Heidelberg, Germany.

Prof. Dr. Paula Perlea developed specializations in paediatric dentistry, periodontology, implantology and cariology in Germany and in endodontics in USA (Case Western Reserve University Cleveland, Ohio).

With over 103 scientific publications as main or co-author and over 130 conferences/presentations, Prof. Dr. Perlea has major contributions in the field of endodontics: microbiology of the endodontic system, CBCT evaluation, retreatments and root canal morphology. Her experience in research is based on studies on dental materials, rotary endodontic treatment, periodontal pathology and epidemiological studies. Professor Paula Perlea also wrote 3 books as main or coauthor.

She is FDI National Liaison Officer, ERO/FDI representative for Romania, BASS board member, editorial board member of national and international journals (StomaEduJ, Balkan Journal of Dental Medicine), coordinating editor of the Romanian Journal of Stomatology, president and member of examination boards and organizer of prestigious congresses.
